Lethbridge
With events distributed across a dozen neighbouring communities, the 1975 Canada Winter Games in Lethbridge, Alberta proved that size was no obstacle to hosting.
Small town cooperation, paired with impressive widespread logistics, made these Winter Games a resounding success, as the Canadian Army generously provided transportation for athletes competing in events as far as 500 km away.

Joyce Douthwright Slipp becomes the first athlete to win a medal in both the Winter and Summer Games. Remarkably, the Moncton native accomplishes this feat while competing in two different sports: field hockey (1969) and basketball (1975).
