The Thunder Bay Canada Summer Games were defined by an intense series of competitions that saw 18 records broken in track and field and swimming. Nova Scotia, for its part, dominated nearly every canoeing event. Overall, the 1981 Canada Summer Games were a testament to the significant potential of young Canadian athletes.
