In 2023, Prince Edward Island hosted the Canada Winter Games to celebrate Canada’s top athletic talent. From February 18th to March 5th, PEI welcomed 3,600 participants, 5,000 volunteers, and thousands of fans over a two-week period, showcasing an exceptional commitment to its renowned Island hospitality. The 29th edition of the Canada Games was the largest event hosted in the Island’s history. The Games featured 20 sports and over 150 events, including the historic debuts of Karate, Mixed Doubles Curling, and Women’s Boxing.

Double-medalist Marisol Savoie of Moncton served as the Closing Ceremony flag bearer for Team New Brunswick. Savoie won a gold medal in women’s individual judo and a bronze medal in women’s team event.
