We are particularly indebted to the late Roly McLenahan for his insight and leadership in the formation of the Canada Games movement and his belief in the Canada Games beyond their impact on sports development. We would also like to acknowledge the contribution of the many employees, volunteers, coaches, managers, organizers, officials, parents, and athletes who have made it possible to inspire many generations of athletes to come, as well as our photographers including but not limited to: Fran Harris, Normand Leger, Kevin Lunn, Darcy McKillop, and Bruce MacFarlane.

Canada Games Hall of Honour

Roly McLenahan

“The Canada Games Hall of Honour celebrates exceptional Canada Games alumni who have distinguished themselves as athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers or administrators, individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the development and advancement of the Canada Games Movement. Roly McLenahan was a leader in the formation of New Brunswick’s Canada Games team as they ventured into their very first Games held in Québec in 1967. His belief in the Games and their impact went far beyond sport development. In the 1970s and 80s he was an active member of the Canada Games Council, a chef de mission for New Brunswick, and a strong supporter of the Games as a tool for sport excellence, sport development and national unity.”

“The Canada Games Flag was previously awarded at the Canada Games to the Province or Territory with the greatest number of points from all.
