The 1977 Canada Games in Newfoundland and Labrador were imbued with the spirit of a province famous for its warmth and charm. During the closing ceremonies, athletes serenaded their hosts with a song of gratitude and thanks: “Thank you, Newfies, thank you; we love you, we love you.”
