Corner Brook

Winter Games

In addition to hosting a full slate of athletic events, the Canada Winter Games in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador also welcomed young artists from across Canada as a part of the inaugural National Artist Program. This new cultural component of the Canada Games paired artists from a variety of disciplines with mentors in their field. While the program itself came to an end in 2011, the artistry of the Games still lives on in the many cultural events organized by host communities, as well as in the performances of the athletes themselves.
